The papers in this section discuss instructional design as a field of study. It also includes reference to my books describing some instructional design theories.
Component Display Theory
The papers in this section describe a prescriptive theory of instructional design. It also includes reference to TICCIT, a book describing a computer based authoring system that implemented Component Display Theory.
Instructional Transaction Theory
The papers in this section describe the development of a second generation of instructional design theory to enable tools that automate the instructional design process. This section describes some of the tools we developed for this purpose.

The papers in this section describe a basic set of principles that are required to make instruction effective, efficient and engaging. It also references my book on First Principles of Instruction.
